2013 - A Year in Review of ABC (Part One - Necktie Clutches)

Hard to believe my son is turning four years old in only four days! Not only is he growing and learning, so am I and my hobby-turned-business, Allison Barnes Collection (or ABC).

Looking back, 2013 was such an awesome year for ABC! Emotionally, there were many ups and downs especially in the latter half of the year. My Dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer (he's responded well to treatments thus far) and we moved house. I took on far too many crochet projects in the last few months of 2013 and my hands told me to SLOW DOWN! Don't get me wrong, I love making all of your crocheted orders (because I love to crochet) but I didn't have a good life-work balance and it took its toll.

This year of 2014 my "resolution" is to find balance; to schedule orders ahead of time and not get drowned in a long list of orders hurriedly trying to complete them in time for Christmas. I also want to find more balance between crochet and sewing. Another goal for 2014 is to complete two necktie clutches each week during the week (thus freeing up my weekends). Is this doable? Yes. Will there be things that sometimes prevent me from finishing before the weekend starts? Yes. But if I can accomplish this I will have more lovelies to share with you all on my Facebook page and right here on my blog.

Enough blabbering for one blog post....I want to share with you some of my favourite necktie clutches from 2013.
